Geolocation, or more accurate: where your computer is located on the planet earth.
This will only function on a few browsers and only if you accept when the browser ask if you accept to revealand click "Yes" or "Accept" or "OK" or ..., you should've got it by now I think.
Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that the privacy when it comes to webcam are very strict, which is good because
privacy is very important and deep inside I'm glad the browser makers make it hard for people to get access to your
webcams and/or microphones.
Think about it. On your smartphone you have at least two webcames with wide-angle lenses (at least 160°) and
two microphones. One camera and one microphone on each side so when you put down your smartphone
one wide-angle camera and microphone will always point up.
Got a laptop? Most laptops sold today has a webcam that has the best view you can cream of as a hacker.
I couldn't have placed a camera a better place myeself for the best view of for example a living room. Most laptops are
placed on a desk facing a wall or a window sitting with your back to the room. This is where the camera is pointed too.
On top of this the display, and then also the camera, is often pointed slightly bended backwards so that you look down into the display
and then the camera gets the oposite view: Full coverage of the room behind you. The camera works best (for the hacker) when the laptop
is not used, but between you've stoped using it and before the laptop goes into sleep mode, the hacker can have nice view.
An advanced hacker or settings on your computer can make the laptop never go to sleep and record everything.
What if your working desk is in your bedroom?
Giving the wrong site permission to use your webcam can be very unpleasant.
Most browsers will not ask if you want to share your location if the server isn't using SSL. This site are running on my
private server and I haven't got my finger out and set it up to support SSL, yet! It will come very soon, I promise.
For now you can only watch your IP-address and your Hostname.
